MARSEILLAISE DE L’ESPOIR

When Véronique Elling was asked in 2017 to recite the French national anthem at the national holiday celebration, she noted that all 7 official verses glorify war and violence.

She then wrote a new verse as a hymn to peace and received great affirmation from the French. President E. Macron and from the German Vice-Chancellor O. Scholz.

OPUS1

The first studio album contains 12 self composed new compositions. All titles were written in collaboration with her partner Henrik Giese.

The arrangements are pure and acoustic. The composer on the grand piano, a trio of strings from the Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the atmospheric use of percussions, everything supports the warm emotionality of the voice.

The concept album, which deals with the mourning of her deceased son Victor, was released on 26.05.2020, Victor’s 20th birthday.

"A brilliant band. Véronique Elling sings in a quality that is hard to match. The audience celebrates her with ovations in the sold-out hall, never wanting to let her off the stage again".
- Hamburger Abendblatt*
